Train Freediving
en Home

We're with you even on days with no water. Techniques, exercises and professional guidance so you can train from home safely and effectively.

Your school, at home too

We guide you even out of the water

At Subzone we believe training doesn't end when you leave the pool or the sea. That's why all our students get guidance and resources to keep training at home between sessions.

We give you the tools, the techniques and the guidance so you can progress autonomously and safely. Breathing, flexibility and mental prep are skills best built with daily consistency.

This service is completely free for our students. It's our way of making sure you have complete training, no matter the day of the week or where you are.

What you'll practise

Four pillars of training at home

Breathing techniques

Diaphragmatic breathing, segmental ventilation, lung packing techniques and breathing patterns before, during and after the dive.

  • Deep diaphragmatic breathing
  • Segmental ventilation
  • Dry CO2 and O2 tables
  • Pre-dive relaxation patterns

Stretching and flexibility

Thoracic flexibility, intercostals, diaphragm and posterior chain. A flexible chest allows greater lung capacity and better equalisation at depth.

  • Progressive thoracic opening
  • Intercostal stretches
  • Diaphragm flexibility
  • Posterior chain mobility

Relaxation and visualisation

Dive visualisation, body scan, guided meditation and progressive relaxation techniques. Training the mind is as important as training the body.

  • Guided meditation for freediving
  • Dive visualisation
  • Body scan and progressive relaxation
  • Anxiety control

Physical preparation

Functional exercises for freediving: core strengthening, muscular endurance and leg work for a more efficient kick.

  • Core and stability
  • Specific muscular endurance
  • Leg work for kicking
  • Anaerobic capacity
How it works

Three steps to train at home

01

Take the course

Complete your Level 1 Freediving Course with Subzone. You'll learn the breathing, equalisation and safety basics you need to train on your own.

02

Get your plan

We provide personalised training routines to do at home: breathing exercises, stretches, dry freediving tables and visualisation.

03

Train and ask

Practise at your own pace from home. If you have questions, ask us. We review your progress in pool and ocean sessions and adjust your plan as you evolve.

Philosophy
"80% of freediving is mental. And mental training happens at home, every day, with consistency."
— Juan Báez, Founder of Subzone Freediving

The best freedivers in the world spend more time training out of the water than in it. Thoracic flexibility, breathing efficiency and mental strength are skills built at home and applied at depth.
